This is a relatively easy trail that can be done in high clearance 4x4's there is one long, steep and rutted section of concern for those that are inexperienced or have a stock rig. Other than that you can stay on the easier forest road or play on some of the more exciting side routes.


Take San Francisquito Road to Drinkwater Road; travel 5 miles to Drinkwater Flats.

Front Entrance[edit]

There is a staging area across the street from the first hill climb into Drinkwater Flats. The first climb is a medium for a seasoned dirt bike rider and a difficult for a 4wd vehicle. The second hill climb can be tricky for a 4wd and is very slick during and after a rain. For a 4wd in the beginning for the second hill keep right then cross the large rut that runs down the middle of the trail to the left hand side, you will need traverse the climb until it levels out for the final steep section, there is a 1-1/2 foot ledge at a 50 degree angle and some slick rock follows after the ledge at the top.

On the way down the front, it is given a double black diamond rating for the down hill. 4Lo is required for both up and down traffic of the front side.

Continuing through to Bouquet Canyon allows travel to Texas Canyon and on to Rowher OHV area.
